This will be the 45th running of the Stratham Fair Road Race, which has been held in connection with the Stratham Fair since 1973. The race is a low-key and enjoyable event. It is also fund-raiser for the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, and organization devoted to finding improved therapies and a cure for those living with Parkinson’s disease. A portion of each runner’s registration fee will be donated to this organization.
The Date: The race in 2019 will be held on July 20, at 8:30.
Race Registration: You can sign up for the race online until July 18th at (www.lightboxreg.com/stratham-fair-road-race). The cost is $25.00 plus a processing fee. You can post-register the morning of the race during the number pick up time, from 7:00 until 8:00 at the Pavillion in Stratham Hill Park. The post-registration fee is $35.00.
Tee Shirts: Tee shirts will be given to the first 125 runners to sign up.
The Course: The course is 5.7 miles, consisting mostly of gently rolling hills on nicely wooded roads. The last segment is largely uphill on Route 33. A link to a map of the course is below://www.gpsies.com/mapOnly.do?fileId=itytrceblgsyidvm
Water Stops: There will be numerous water stops along the course.
Refreshments: Water, fruit, and other refreshments will be available to runners at the finish.
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers (male and female), to the top Stratham residents (male and female), and to the first finishers (male and female) in each of the age categories (under 20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50 -59, 60-69, 70+). There will also be a prize awarded to male and female teams in the running club competition (see the rules below). There will also be a few raffle awards for non-prize winners.
Club Competition: The Club Competitions will be based on the top three male or female finishers for each club (clubs must have at least three entrants). Clubs can enter teams in either or both categories. Club affiliation must be indicated on the registration form.
